A vertical injection molding machine is selected when inserts, overmolding or operator loading need a different clamp direction than a horizontal cell. This page explains how the production stage, insert location and injection-unit choice change the RFQ. Injection Molding Machine Sourcing remains an independent sourcing partner; named factories confirm whether their table, shuttle or rotary arrangement fits the actual insert-handling sequence. The horizontal-machine example does not establish this cell layout.
| Decision point | Evidence or question |
|---|---|
| Production stage: Sample run | Use the actual insert and resin, or an agreed representative pair. Record how the insert is located and verified before the vertical mold closes. Empty-table motion is not a fill check. Count acceptable parts after the agreed conditioning period, including insert position and flash at the shut-off. |
| Site readiness | Confirm work envelope, footprint, three-phase supply, cooling water and compressed air demand at the loading height the operator or robot will use. Ask which PLC interface names already exist and whether a shuttle, rotary table or sliding table is included. State quantity, destination and requested delivery window so freight and SAT labor can be marked. |
| Owner acceptance | Owner acceptance should cite insert location evidence and the injection-unit selection for that shot, not a generic vertical catalog page. FAT and SAT stay on the named factory contract. Injection Molding Machine Sourcing coordinates questions; we do not certify insert processes. Continue on inquiry options or mold-and-shot matching. |
